Oh Baby! Two New Patterns

Baby patterns are some of our favorites. We have two new ones releasing today, the Lux Jumpsuit and the Lilium Bodysuit. Whether you’re looking for a fun playsuit or a warm layer for your little one, these patterns have you covered. Let’s start with the similarities; both come in sizes NB/50 – 2Y/92 and have short and long sleeves. Now here are the differences, the Lux’s sleeves are raglan. It also has a sleeveless option and short or long legs. Let’s take a closer look at both.

In February 2018, we released the Vivax Top and Dress. Immediately we were asked for the adult version. We took some time to work on it, but it’s here now, and you’ll love it. It has the same options as the child version, but there’s a bonus… a cowl add-on!

The Adult Version of the Callens Leggings is HERE!

We like to make you wait. Shame on us. We released the child version of the Callens and then made you wait impatiently for the adult version. That wasn’t very nice of us, but it was worth it! Most importantly, they’re here, and like the children’s version, these leggings are packed with options; a gusset, four lengths, four color block options, and three waistband options. Lastly, the pattern comes in sizes 32 – 54.

Tutorial: How to add a pocket to the Dulce

We asked our ambassadors to modify our patterns so you can get more use out of them. By Mykikou has added a cute treasure pocket to the Dulce. Follow the directions below, and do not forget to show us your result in our Facebook group or tag us on IG (@Sofilantjes_anne).

Say hi to By Mykikou on IG and thank her by following her account.

1- I draw the pocket on the front.
2- I transfer and cut out the pocket.
3- I cut out the opening of the pocket on the front.

4- I calculate the pocket edge band.
5- I cut the pocket edge band, the front with the pocket opening and the pocket.
6- I fold the pocket edge strip right sides together and pin it on the pocket opening starting with the ends and the middle.

7- I assemble the pocket edge strip and the front.
I topstitch.
8- I place the pocket pattern and trace with a soap (or erasable pencil) the shape of the pocket on the front.
9- I place the pocket under the front (right side up). I pin then sew the pocket on my tracing with a decorative stretch stitch or with the sealer.

10- I join the edges of the pocket to the front at 5 mm.
11- I can add a label, a ribbon, or an appliqué to personalize more.
12- I finish assembling Dulce following the tutorial. Dulce is finished!

Tutorial: How to add a Tulle Skirt to the Regina

Arina is back to share another modification with us. Adding the tulle skirt to the Regina is right on trend. This style is something I see a lot in the store. Now you can make your own. Photo 1: Measure how wide your elastic is, and cut that amount from the pattern piece of the bodice. Continue making everything like the pattern. I used one layer of tricot and three layers of tulle and processed it just like one skirt. Assemble the skirt and the bodice as well. Do not fasten the bodice to the skirt yet. First, you will now cut the elastic to size. I used the same size as the bodice. Add 2 cm seam allowance and cut. Close the elastic by aligning the two short sides and sewing 1 cm from the edge. Topstitch the short sides at 0.5 cm.

Photo 2: Now, you will put the elastic on the upper body. You do this by placing the wrong side of the elastic on the wrong side of the body. Short stitch the elastic on the side. 

Photo 3: Now, you fold the elastic to the right side, and you may see some protruding fabric. Cut this off very carefully. 

Photo 4: Right side up, topstitch the same stitch again. 

Do everything exactly the same with the skirt. Finished!
