After a lot of emails and messages we decided we had to meet. So on a Friday I put the kids in the car and we went over to Guus from Stoffenfeest. We talked about kids, jobs and our passion for sewing and it felt like I had known her for a long time. Our kids made cupcakes and got along great.
Guus offered to sponsor me some fabrics. And because I was at her house, I got to choose them myself. Lucky me!
If you have visited her shop you must have seen all the great fabrics she sells. Choosing from those fabrics was hard. I finally settled for a very soft mint/grey pineapple fabric. Combined with a glitter mint sweat. Both fabrics have good quality.
Originally, I was planning to sew a Nivalis dress but once the fabrics were washed I changed my mind to Domi’s. Guus was fine with any choice I made so Domi’s it is.
Since the Domi pants is my design I can sew this with my eyes closed. I did do two things differently than I suggest in the pattern. I cut the pocket ribbing wider and longer, because of the thickness and stretch of the fabric. And I sewed the smaller size, she is in between sizes, to make it more skinny fitted.
I should have paid more attention to print placement…. there is a mint glitter pineapple on her butt…. lol
She totally feels great in these pants. She loves the soft inside. It’s a winner! Thank you Guus!
